About Pumula Lodge
The property was purchased in March 1997 and renovations started during August 1997 to convert the existing residential house into a guesthouse. Pumula Lodge started operating as a B&B during December 1997.
The clearing of invader species and the establishing of the garden took approximately another 2 years. The following 17 years saw many improvements/refinements being implemented both in the main building as well as in the garden.
Through all this we managed to keep to our original objective and that was to create a 'Place of Rest' where like minded people could feel connected to nature. Although Pumula Lodge is a Bed and Breakfast, it is our home first and foremost which we enjoy sharing with our guests. We therefore felt it important to create a modest little 3 Star B&B where everybody is relaxed rather than an upmarket 'Glitzy' guest house.
This is a fantastic place to stay, made so mostly by the owners who are wonderful at making people welcome and looking after them.. nothing was to much trouble ... please let them advise you on things to do and where to eat as they have great local knowledge
A very professionally run establishment. Everything we needed in the room. A lovely welcome, and loads of information about the area, and some useful recommendations. Never felt there was any query that could not be answered.
This was one of the nicest places we stayed on our trip around the garden route. Pieter and rensia made us so welcome. We so enjoyed the birds that were so tame in the garden and just everything about the stay was so special. Thanks to all at the lodge(especially the ladies who did such a fab breakfast)
Very nice Lodge, room with spacious balcony to the great garden with a lot of birds. Very nice, perfect clean pool in garden. Breakfast also on large balcony with great view to the garden. good (calm) location
